National TruckPorts - New Developments for Trucking Vendors and Trucking Companies
DALLAS, Sept. 9, 2009 -- National TruckPorts ("NTP") recently leased space to several companies, adding to its rapidly expanding tenant base. Marrowstone Truck and Trailer Repair Services Inc. opened its first location at the Denton, TX (North Dallas) TruckPort. Liberty Mechanical Truck & Trailer Repair and Vela's Truck Wash recently moved their businesses to the new South Dallas facility.
Marrowstone Truck and Trailer Repair Services Inc. offers bumper to bumper services, preventative maintenance such as the PMA, DOT inspections, Texas State Inspections and other heavy repairs.
Monica Guerrero, the general manager of Marrowstone, says, "We were lucky to find our home here at National TruckPorts.
We have a 7-bay shop with drive-thru bays. It's spacious yet affordable with the necessary parking for our customers. It is a great place to work and the layout truly meets our needs. I am sure that we will be able to accommodate each company's maintenance needs and develop a great working relationship. At Marrowstone, we consider it our priority to keep your trucks rolling at an efficient and low-cost manner."
Liberty Mechanical is a Dallas-based repair facility that specializes in truck and trailer repairs. Liberty also offers state inspections, fabrications and custom installations. Insurance work is also welcomed. Hector Diaz, the owner of Liberty, says, "The TruckPort is a nice modern facility with a great location and a professional environment geared for the trucking industry."
Vela's Commercial Truck Wash offers tractor and trailer washes as well as reefer wash-outs and cleaning for other miscellaneous heavy equipment. Vela's wash prices are very reasonable if not less than most of its area competitors.
"The tenant mix seems to be working well. The tenants often recommend each other's businesses to one another and to their customers when they are at the facilities," says Stuart Smith, the Vice President of Operations at National TruckPorts.
NTP facilities feature large, secured parking areas for tractors, trailers or equipment. However, the focal point of the development is an area with customizable service bays where carriers can perform regularly scheduled maintenance and service on their vehicles.
Current TruckPort tenants include a trucking company's corporate headquarters, another trucking company's satellite location, truck parts store, mechanic shops, tire shop, graphics shop, chrome shop, an accounting firm that specializes in trucking and owner operator tax returns and the new truck wash. Other potential tenants for these facilities include CB/radio retailers and installation, glass shops, logistics brokers, trucking agents, truck cab cooling systems, truck and trailer tracking devices and other businesses catering to the transportation industry.
"The long-term parking tenants as well as the day-to-day customers seem to like the one-stop-shop atmosphere," says Smith. A driver can get his oil changed, his state inspection, his truck washed and polished, tires checked, etc. all in the same location. Another advantage to these customers/drivers is most of the tenants' rates are lower than the traditional places that offer similar services.
Currently NTP has two locations open in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, with plans to build facilities throughout Texas and nationwide, which will provide flexible, convenient spaces to carriers and service providers who have trucks in the areas on a regular basis. "It's a great time to lease space and take advantage of our low introductory lease rates," Smith says.
