East Coast Storm
Posted on: 12/2/09
Rain and wind will spread through Northeast Wednesday night through Thursday as low pressure moves in from the south.
The strongest winds will likely be near the coast and in higher elevations where gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible.
Some minor to moderate coastal flooding is possible due to the strong, but short-lived onshore flow.
Rain will be heavy at times through the night and into Thursday, however the fast movement should keep most rain totals between 1 and 2 inches.
By sunrise Thursday morning, much of the rain will be over New York and New England. By later in the afternoon, much of the precipitation will have exited into Canada.
Behind this exiting storm, lake-effect snow will develop Thursday night and continue through Friday.
